Memorial Gown Ball
art direction
When researching brand problems, my partner and I realized we wanted to do something for social equity. We identified that inpatient children lose a sense of identity during their hospital care due to the need for a sterile environment. We decided to create a campaign with creative technology where children are able to design their own hospital gowns, showcase their designs on a runway, and participate in a hospital gown ball with people in the community. The technology we use is Whole-garment Knitwear, a machine that can produce a knitted garment without any labor. This tech allows for fully customizable, form fitting hospital wear. Patrons are invited to see the up and coming designers at the gown ball, and after the showcase, gowns are sold to the benefit of the child's hospital fund. Campaign produced in partnership with Sarah Dyckshorn. Media from Memorial Children's Hospital and Allison Hall (The Small Creative) for educational uses at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
